About The Position

Peraton is looking for a Cloud Platform Technical Lead who will drive innovation and collaboration between diverse teams of Software Developers, AWS Site Reliability Engineers, Automation Engineers, Testing Engineers, Network Engineers, Database Engineers, Cloud Operations Engineers, Tools Engineers, Application Developers, and Security experts. This role is responsible for driving the maturity of the current Cloud Platform (IaaS, PaaS, Saas) and leading the continuous delivery of highly visible applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, architecting, and implementing technology transformation initiatives, particularly those involving advanced cloud platform technologies, artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and emerging digital solutions. They will utilize modern tools and observability metrics to identify and troubleshoot recurring enterprise or cloud platform issues, leading initiatives for improvement. The role also involves leading Agile sprints, understanding technical and business environments to assess impact and risks, communicating event statuses to executives, managing communications during high-impact events, and prioritizing customer issues. Identifying areas for process standardization in incident response, ensuring standards are maintained within technical engineering teams, and addressing team process inefficiencies are also key responsibilities. The role requires creating and reviewing technical documentation, effectively communicating complex technical information, and responding to RFIs with technical approach responses aligned to the company's roadmap. A proven track record in senior consulting or advisory roles, driving strategic change and digital adoption, and establishing standard approaches for data, systems, and new technologies like AI is essential.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust level clearance.
Bachelors Degree and 12 years of experience, a Masters Degree and 10 years of experience, or a High School diploma/equivalent or equivalent and 16 years of experience.
At least 10 years of hands-on experience building/operating on AWS, DevSecOps, application development, networking, IT Security tools, databases and tools in a modern software development environment.
One relevant AWS Certification: AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Security Specialist, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
Ability to work with Terraform for infrastructure as code solutions.
Strong understanding of identity access management roles, permissions, etc.
Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based containerized applications (AWS EKS) including spring boot-based container services.
Experience with Gitlab CICD including enabling environments, feature flags, and DORA Metrics aggregation.
Coding proficiency in at least one software language (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby).
Must be a self-starter and able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level – with a strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical acumen, solid technology experience, business judgment, and an ability to dive deep to solve complex problems.
Must have the leadership presence and communication skills to effectively work with customers at all levels of their organization.

Responsibilities

Be a key technical leader to drive maturity of current Cloud Platform (IaaS, PaaS, Saas) and lead continuous delivery of highly visible applications.
Expertise in designing, architecting and implementing a broad range of technology transformation initiatives, especially those involving advanced cloud platform technologies, artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and emerging digital solutions.
Technical skills using modern tools and observability metrics to identify and troubleshoot recurring enterprise or cloud platform issues and own initiatives to drive improvements.
Led Agile sprints to evolve business processes, technologies, and drive optional improvement
Utilize enterprise domain expertise on monitoring and alerting tools & practices leveraging Enterprise Observability Tools like Datadog (preferred) or Dynatrace.
Understand the technical and business environment to be able to assess the true impact and risks and be able to quickly provide executive level communication regarding the status of an event.
Monitor and manage communications during high impact events via relevant channels.
Prioritize, manage, and own emerging and developing customer issues from start to finish.
Identify areas where standardization of process will aid incident response.
Ensure standards are maintained within the technical engineering teams.
Identify inefficiencies in team process and create plans to address them.
Create and review polished and professional technical documentation as appropriate such as documentation for incident events and actions taken, root cause analysis and actions needed, design new standard procedures for mitigations, etc.
Must be able to communicate complex technical information effectively to the Customer and Stakeholders.
Responsible for responding to RFIs and drafting technical approach responses that align to our roadmap and strategic agenda.
Proven track record in senior consulting or advisory roles, driving strategic change and digital adoption across multiple business units.
Set the foundation for success by creating a standard approach for how data, systems, and new technologies like AI and digital dashboards connect and work together, including tools for managing data, finances, design, equipment, and project progress.
