About The Position

Logos Space is building next-generation space-based network fabric, and the Network Software team is responsible for the software systems that control, operate, scale, and route traffic across that network. The Cloud Platform Software Lead will spearhead the architecture, design and implementation of Cloud Platform software that supports Logos network. This role will own foundational platform services, infrastructure software, deployment systems, observability, automation, and operational frameworks that enable Ground Segment and Software Defined Networking (SDN) software stack to be deployed, and run reliably at scale. This is an early, high-impact role in the Network Software team that combines cloud infrastructure depth, distributed systems experience, platform engineering, operational excellence, and strong technical leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on cloud platform software, infrastructure software, distributed systems, and backend services.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, leading cloud platform software development, with the scope and breadth of this role.
  • Strong technical expertise in: Cloud-native systems, observability, telemetry, automation and production operations.
  • Strong technical expertise in: Containerized environments and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Strong technical expertise in: Building scalable, reliable and highly available distributed systems.
  • Strong technical expertise in: Designing various platform services such as logging, messaging, database, telemetry.
  • Programming in one or more languages such as Go, Rust, or Python.
  • Debugging and system thinking skills across software, infrastructure, cloud environments and distributed services.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and make pragmatic architecture decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building carrier-grade cloud platforms for telecom, networking, satellite systems, wireless systems or large-scale distributed infrastructure.
  • Experience building telemetry pipelines, logging pipelines, observability systems.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, service mesh, Terraform, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka, or similar cloud-native/platform technologies.
  • Experience with multi-region, hybrid cloud, or geographically distributed deployments.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments.
  • Ability and willingness to attain a Top Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design and development of cloud platform software for the Logos network.
  • Design and build foundational platform services for identity, observability, telemetry, logging, messaging, persistence, automation and operational workflows.
  • Build scalable runtime infrastructure as code to support Ground Segment and SDN software stack
  • Design for on-prem, cloud and hybrid deployments
  • Participate directly in implementation, code reviews, design reviews, debugging, test strategy and system integration
  • Work closely with the control plane software teams to ensure platform capabilities meet network software needs.
  • Ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of the cloud platform software
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the software engineers.
  • Translate system level reliability, scalability, and operational goals into executable architecture, milestones and engineering deliverables.
  • Work with product management teams to prioritize features and requirements.
  • Work with quality assurance teams to ensure software quality and reliability.
