About The Position

The Cloud Platform Manager is a hands-on technical leader responsible for enabling application teams to successfully adopt and optimize the enterprise cloud platform. This role drives developer experience, self-service capabilities, and cloud-smart engineering culture, with a primary focus on AWS, while maintaining security, cost, and reliability standards. The role begins as an individual contributor with expectation to grow and lead a small team over time.

Requirements

  • AWS – Deep hands-on expertise (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, EKS, CUR Files, etc.)
  • Terraform – Strong working knowledge
  • GitLab CI/CD – Experience with pipeline enablement and onboarding application teams
  • Python – Required for automation, tooling, and toil-reduction solutions
  • Cloud Security – IAM policies, SCPs, security groups, guardrails, and compliance controls
  • Containerization – Docker, Kubernetes/EKS
  • Azure – Working knowledge preferred given multi-cloud scope
  • Agentic AI – AWS Strands, FastAPI, Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore with Guardrails
  • Monitoring & Observability – CloudWatch or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree and fifteen to twenty years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management and data governance.
  • Knowledge of current trends in IT hardware and systems software field.
  • Database management skills with the ability to produce reports.
  • Familiarity with the support and troubleshooting of personal computers and tablet devices.
  • Analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and implement robust solutions.
  • Interpret guidelines and analyze information to adapt or modify processes in response to changing circumstances.
  • Duties may require non-routine analysis, research and follow-through.
  • The position requires strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS certification(s) preferred (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
  • Experience in a platform engineering, cloud enablement, or Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) role at enterprise scale
  • Demonstrated experience building internal developer platforms or self-service tooling
  • Experience with FinOps practices and cloud cost governance
  • Hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks, AWS Strands, FastAPI, Amazon Bedrock, and Bedrock AgentCore with Guardrails
  • Azure experience a plus given multi-cloud environment
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills with a track record of improving developer experience and cloud adoption culture
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and driving clarity through structured problem solving

Responsibilities

  • Platform Enablement & Developer Experience: Primary enabler for application teams migrating to and operating on AWS. Drive self-service adoption of enterprise Terraform modules and GitLab pipelines owned by partner teams. Reduce friction and improve day-to-day experience of app teams on the platform. Make cloud migrations repeatable through improved tooling, patterns, and guidance.
  • Automation & Toil Reduction: Build Python-based solutions to automate and eliminate toil, improving resiliency. Drive adoption of standard templates, approved libraries, and enterprise frameworks.
  • Optimization & Reliability: Continuously identify opportunities for cost optimization, and platform improvements. Ensure adoption of security best practices and improve reliability through proactive engineering.
  • Cross-Team Partnership: Identify gaps, gather requirements, and partner closely with peer teams to deliver cohesive solutions. Communicate platform standards and best practices; drive consistent adoption across application teams.
  • Innovation: Leverage agentic AI capabilities (Strands, FastAPI, Bedrock AgentCore with Guardrails) to solve platform challenges and improve developer experience. Bring curiosity and excitement to building better engineering solutions.
