About The Position

The DevSecOps & Cloud Platform Services Intern will work as part of Interac’s platform architecture team to develop and deliver technical solutions on public and private clouds. This intern will collaborate with highly-technical colleagues to solve problems within the payment space, gaining knowledge and experience across multiple technology domains (including Enterprise Cloud, DevOps and Agile) and projects that will impact every Canadian.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a university or college program in a relevant discipline, like computer science or similar field
Familiarity with system architecture and automation
Familiarity with scripting languages and cloud native technologies
Working knowledge of System architecture
Working knowledge of automation
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with scripting languages
Familiarity with cloud native technologies
Proactive critical thinker, with strong analytical and problem skills – you enjoy continuously improving redundant or inefficient processes
Comfortable troubleshooting and enjoy tackling challenging problems – you often utilize your creative thinking skills to come up with solutions
Comfortable with learning and working effectively either independently or with groups across different functions and levels
Confidence in your ability to communicate verbally and written in a detailed and impactful way
Experience with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and continuous integration, delivery and deployment (CI/CD) tools
Experience with implementing security in public cloud environments

Responsibilities

Supporting the Cloud Engineering team to develop and deliver services on public cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services & Azure)
Participating in squads focusing on maturing Interac’s cloud practices and tools
Contributing to the designing solutions for a variety of digital transformation initiatives and managing existing infrastructure across Interac
Helping evaluate business goals, assessments, develop technical architectures, and support the design deployment
Contributing to the team responsible for designing and managing cloud-based systems for Interac by bringing new solutions and supporting the conversions of existing systems to the cloud
Acting as a technical interface for a variety of projects and infrastructure initiatives by communicating and managing senior technology professionals
Providing additional ad-hoc support with: Driving automation for cloud build
Delivering environments into and designing solutions on the public clouds
Preparing design documents for cloud deployment
Implementing best practices around security & platform tools
Writing IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and develop modules
Collaborating directly with Interac’s DevSecOps subject matter experts (SME)
