About The Position

Booz Allen is seeking a lead Cloud Operations Infrastructure Engineer to support the United States Air Force. This role involves overseeing the design, sustainment, and optimization of secure, mission-aligned cloud infrastructure across multiple Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) including AWS, Azure, GCP, or DoW-affiliated managed environments. The lead engineer will guide engineering teams supporting Department of the Air Force (DoW) and Special Access Program (SAP) workloads, ensuring adherence to DoW cybersecurity standards, secure multi-boundary deployment patterns, and the rapid, reliable delivery of mission applications in IL2-IL6, JWICS, or SAP-accredited cloud environments. This position is crucial for transforming how the Department of the Air Force utilizes technology through cloud migration, advanced technology integration, and legacy system modernization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess leadership and mentoring capabilities for cloud engineers working with hybrid, multi-cloud, and tenant-owned architectures in DoW environments, and be responsible for driving cloud operational readiness, incident response, environment hardening, and mission uptime across secure and classified networks. Experience coordinating with cybersecurity teams, Authorizing Officials (AOs), and mission owners to expedite accreditation timelines and meet environment compliance requirements is essential. Expertise in AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle clouds, cloud or network security, containers and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines across DoW impact levels or classifications is required. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently while leading others, and cross-development team collaboration are also necessary. The role requires working in a fast-paced, agile environment while mentoring junior engineers.
