About The Position

OpenNebula Systems is seeking a Cloud Networking & Virtualization Engineer to join its Engineering team in Europe and strengthen networking and virtualization for cloud and telco deployments. The role integrates, tests, and supports virtual networking and virtualization layers, with a focus on Open vSwitch (OVS) with DPDK, KVM on Red Hat, and Ansible automation. It also involves maintaining deployment tooling and troubleshooting complex performance and integration issues. The engineer will collaborate with colleagues, customers, and project teams to deliver reliable deployments, validate network performance, and document practical solutions. The position requires hands-on experience and the ability to take ownership of technical work independently. Occasional travel to project meetings and events may be required. OpenNebula Systems develops open-source cloud infrastructure technology and participates in European edge-computing initiatives. The company describes itself as an all-remote organization, with a headquarters in Madrid and offices in Boston and Brno. Hiring options vary by location and may include full-time or part-time employment, or contracting outside Spain and the USA.
