About The Position

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Cloud Integration Engineer position! This is a 6-18 month contract and will be hybrid on site 4 days per week in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

Requirements

  • Strong core Java development experience with solid understanding of OOP principles, data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and exception handling
  • Proven expertise in Spring Boot for building RESTful APIs, along with proficiency in Maven/Gradle build automation and JUnit/Mockito unit testing
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure Functions development, including triggers, bindings, and function app structures within serverless architectures
  • Hands-on experience integrating Azure services such as Azure Storage, Service Bus/Event Hub, Key Vault, and Managed Identities
  • Strong proficiency with Java HTTP client libraries and API interaction patterns, including experience implementing OAuth 2.0 authentication and API error handling strategies
  • Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability practices in distributed cloud environments
  • Experience with Git version control and CI/CD pipeline development and deployment

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy Java-based Azure Functions to facilitate seamless data integration between internal systems and SaaS applications
  • Build and maintain secure, scalable middleware solutions that ensure reliable data flow and optimal performance across distributed systems
  • Implement robust API interactions with external SaaS platforms, incorporating authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, API Keys, Basic Auth) and JSON processing
  • Drive best practices in error handling, logging, and monitoring for serverless architectures, implementing retry logic and circuit breaker strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and deliver high-quality integration solutions
  • Leverage Azure services including Azure Storage, Service Bus/Event Hub, Key Vault, and Managed Identities to build secure, cloud-native applications
  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and mentor team members on serverless development patterns
  • Support DevOps initiatives including CI/CD pipeline development and Git-based version control workflows
