About The Position

Stringfellow Technology Group is hiring a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Professional Services team. The majority of your time will be spent leading IT project delivery for our managed services clients, including Azure deployments, Microsoft 365 tenant builds, and cloud migrations. You will also run the technical side of new client onboardings. This role requires someone who thinks in systems, not just tasks. You will assess client environments, design the right infrastructure approach, and execute the plan with minimal hand-holding. If you are analytical, self-directed, and prefer to understand the full picture before you start building, this is the role.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of hands-on cloud infrastructure and IT project work, ideally in an MSP or multi-client environment. You have assessed environments, designed solutions, and delivered projects, not just maintained existing systems.
  • Strong M365 administration skills: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Autopilot, and Entra ID. You have done tenant configurations and migrations, not just day-to-day admin.
  • Familiarity with Azure VMs, VNets, NSGs, Azure AD/Entra ID, Azure Storage, and Azure Migrate. You do not need to be an Azure architect, but you need to be able to stand up and secure an environment.
  • Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, firewall rules, and VPN configuration. Fluent, not expert.
  • PowerShell is your daily driver. You script repeatable tasks instead of clicking through them manually.
  • You assess before you act. You want to understand the full scope of a problem, identify dependencies, and design the right approach before executing.
  • CompTIA Network+ or equivalent baseline.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience. We care more about what you can do than where you went to school.

Nice To Haves

  • Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-900, or MS-900) are a strong plus.
  • Experience with ConnectWise Manage, ConnectWise Automate, or similar PSA/RMM platforms.
  • Exposure to Azure Virtual Desktop, Azure Arc, or Azure Lighthouse for multi-tenant management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Phone, Direct Routing, or RingCentral migrations.
  • Genuine curiosity about how AI tools can improve IT operations. You do not need to be an AI engineer, but you should want to learn.
  • Advanced Microsoft certifications: AZ-104, MS-102, SC-300, or similar identity and cloud admin credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead on client IT projects: Azure environment builds, cloud migrations, server and email migrations, network deployments, and M365 tenant configurations. You own the work from assessment through completion.
  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure environments including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage, and identity integration for client workloads.
  • Maintain familiarity with local server environments. Most work involves migrating clients off on-prem infrastructure, but you will occasionally scope and deploy new replacement hosts when the situation calls for it.
  • Plan and execute migrations to Azure and Microsoft 365, including tenant-to-tenant moves, hybrid configurations, email migrations, and data cutover planning.
  • Implement and secure Microsoft 365 client tenants: Entra ID, MFA, Intune/Autopilot, email security, compliant device policies, and conditional access.
  • Assess client environments, define realistic timelines and parameters, and produce Statements of Work that set clear expectations.
  • Document all new and modified systems so the team can maintain them after handoff. Clean documentation is not optional.
  • Lead the technical side of onboarding new managed services clients. This includes infrastructure assessment, M365 tenant setup and security hardening, endpoint enrollment via Intune/Autopilot, and integration with our monitoring and management tools.
  • Ensure smooth handoffs from onboarding to ongoing support with minimal client disruption and complete documentation for the service desk team.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Company-paid health insurance
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • Certification and training reimbursement
  • 401k plan with company match
