About The Position

We are seeking a passionate Cloud Full Stack Developer to join our team and contribute to human space exploration and understanding the origins of the universe. This role involves working with a diverse team to envision, shape, and deliver systems for space exploration and benefits on Earth. As part of the JETSII Contract, you will support NASA Mission Cloud (NMC) and LUNA system development, focusing initially on front-end design but with the flexibility to support other areas within the full stack as needed. You will be instrumental in designing user interfaces, developing and testing front-end code, participating in agile sprints, and contributing to the codebase through DevSecOps processes. This role also involves recommending service implementations, supporting customer conversations for new service development, and designing/developing enterprise-level cloud-centric products and solutions. You will maintain existing cloud applications, participate in requirements gathering, develop solutions across all application tiers, and contribute to innovation by building proof-of-concept examples. Collaboration with other developers and analysts on the Cloud Engineering and Product Team is essential, bringing new and innovative ideas to the team.

Requirements

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and normally possess 15 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Knack for writing clean, readable code, and follow best software development practices.
Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
Solid understanding of Object Oriented principles.
Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions)
Exposure to event-driven systems and messaging queues (Kafka, SQS)
Knowledge of frontend performance optimization and accessibility standards
Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate)
Understanding of cloud security best practices (IAM, encryption, secure APIs)
Experience optimizing application performance and scalability
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus)
Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)
Strong back-end development experience with Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET
Experience designing and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
Solid understanding of database systems (SQL and NoSQL such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Responsibilities

Support JETSII Office of the IT Chief Engineer task orders supporting NASA Mission Cloud (NMC), LUNA system development focused on Full Stack Software Development with an initial focus on front-end design but not limited as support of other duties as assigned within the stack requires that level of effort.
User interface design and user experience in coordination with project leadership
Current and new feature UI element development and updating
Front end code development and testing
Participate in Luna agile sprint cadence, executing assigned development content
Contribute to the Luna codebase through the Luna DevSecOps process
Recommend service and capability implementations to the Luna Chief Architect and Chief Engineer
Support conversations with Luna customers for new service development, service federation, and general technical and process integration
Contribute to the codebase through the NMC DevSecOps process
Recommend service and capability implementations to the NMC Chief Architect and Chief Engineer
Design and develop enterprise level Cloud-centric products and solutions
Maintain and support existing Cloud-centric applications.
Participate in requirements gathering and analysis.
Develop solutions for all tiers of the application: user interface, business logic, database, workflows, and reporting and be a key contributor to innovation and build proof of concept examples that can be leveraged across current and future solutions.
Work with other developers and analysts on the Cloud Engineering and Product Team.
Bring new innovative ideas and solutions to the team.
Support conversations with NMC, Luna, AppDat, and SIERRA customers for new service development, service federation, and general technical and process integration
Perform other duties as required.
