About The Position

UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Cloud Financial Operations Specialist opportunity in Charleston, West Virginia. This role involves analyzing daily usage, driving cost optimization, building financial models for budgeting and forecasting, enforcing governance and tagging standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and managing showback/chargeback models to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial accountability within cloud environments.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Accounting, or Business.
3 to 7+ years in IT financial management, financial analysis, or cloud operations.
Proficiency in AWS, Azure, or GCP pricing models, plus tools like Apptio Cloudability, CloudZero, or Power BI.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in cloud cost management and optimization (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or third-party tools like CloudHealth).
Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing cloud usage analysis, Reserved Instance (RI) / Savings Plan management, and right-sizing recommendations.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience creating financial dashboards and reporting for executive leadership.
Strong analytical skills to correlate cloud usage data with business value.

FinOps Certified Practitioner preferred

Responsibilities

Analyze daily usage and drive right-sizing or waste reduction.
Build financial models and track budget variances.
Enforce resource naming and tagging standards for accurate cost allocation.
Partner with engineering, finance, and leadership to build a culture of financial accountability.
Manage cost-sharing models so business units see their exact cloud consumption.
