About The Position

Acclaim Technical Services (ATS) is seeking a Cloud Engineer with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph for a Prime contract in Annapolis Junction, MD. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the customer's next-generation cloud infrastructure, primarily hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role emphasizes Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and driving automation across development, testing, and production environments to ensure operational excellence, security, and stability.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience working in a Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Software Engineering role.
  • Proven practical experience with AWS - certification as AWS Certified Solutions Architect/DevOps Engineer (or relevant cloud cert) will be required.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), specifically with OpenTofu and/or Terraform.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing and deploying applications on Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in using Ansible for configuration management and automation.
  • Advanced skills in Git and experience with modern branching/merge request workflows.
  • Beginner to intermediate scripting skills in Python for automation tasks.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, STE/STN principles, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science or related discipline. Four (4) years of additional software development experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree for a total of ten (10) years of experience.
  • TS/SCI clearance and polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure using OpenTofu (or Terraform).
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible for configuration management, patch deployment, and software provisioning.
  • Manage and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes (e.g., EKS) and related tooling.
  • Utilize Git for version control, branching strategies, and collaborative development within a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Write and maintain scripts, primarily in Python, to automate routine tasks, integrate systems, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Architect and manage core AWS services (e.g., EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM) to meet mission requirements for performance, cost, and security.
  • Implement and maintain robust monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions.
  • Apply security best practices to the cloud environment, ensuring compliance with STE/STN standards.
