About The Position

As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to create a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. On our team, you’ll support cloud-based solutions to support mission-critical operations. This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment using current cloud capabilities. Using your technical experience, you’ll work with Air Power clients to inform strategy and design and ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process. You’ll recommend tools and solutions based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience architecting and developing scalable, reliable cloud-native applications within AWS
  • 3+ years of experience with networking for hybrid cloud environments within SIPR, TS, or JWICS
  • 3+ years of experience building cloud-native microservice full-stack applications and working with DoD STIGs or CIS Benchmarks
  • 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
  • Experience with DoD impact levels or classifications, AWS cloud, databases such as SQL and NoSQL, air-gapped cloud environments, and common design patterns such as event-driven architectures and microservices
  • Experience with DoD cloud architecture or management, security, or networking
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT II Certification within 60 days of start date

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting cloud-native application deployments and configurations in secured environments
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (K8S) or other K8S distros
  • Experience managing and configuring Ubuntu, RHEL, and Windows Server operating systems
  • Experience troubleshooting networking issues within AWS cloud
  • Experience in Identity Authentication and Authorization, including Single-Sign-On, SAML, or OpenID
  • Possession of excellent communication skills
  • AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification
