About The Position

This role involves designing and delivering large-scale infrastructure cloud solutions within Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for administering, deploying, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining high-availability enterprise solutions. This includes performing proactive system administration, monitoring, and tuning to ensure system stability. A key aspect of the role is developing and deploying Infrastructure as Code using Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM templates, and BICEP. The engineer will also implement and configure applications and tools to enhance automation and code deployment, focusing on Azure operations. Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure/software application issues are critical to maintaining enterprise system stability. The position requires defining and implementing Azure IaaS and PaaS services for high availability, data redundancy, data loss prevention, site recovery, and resilience, adhering to Microsoft best practices. Security is paramount, requiring adherence to Caliber's cloud security standards, implementing solutions for data security (at rest and in transit), application security, key management, identity management, authentication, and authorization using Azure Identity and Security services. The role also includes administering Azure Active Directory, Windows Active Directory, and group policies, contributing to IT policies and controls, and implementing aligned security solutions. Installation and maintenance of IT equipment and services in Caliber's public and private clouds are also part of the responsibilities. Documentation of infrastructure configuration, maintenance runbooks, and monitoring baselines is required. Effective communication within the team and with peer levels is essential. Experience with ITIL Service Management concepts and processes, including Incident Management, Critical System Event Management, and Change Management, is necessary. Compliance with all IT and Information Security policies and procedures, and responding to audit requests, are also required. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in public and hybrid cloud models.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Visio.
  • Solid understanding and proven experience with IT hardware and software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) in Computer Science or related field from four-year college or university; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a cloud computing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in administration of an enterprise-level tenant in Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Applications Owners, Enterprise Architects, Application Development, DevOps and Network and Security teams to design and deliver the best solutions for large scale infrastructure cloud solutions.
  • Administer, deploy, configure, monitor, and maintain high availability enterprise solutions within MS Azure and on-premises solutions.
  • Perform proactive system administration, monitoring, tuning to ensure the stability of applications and services.
  • Develop and deploy Infrastructure as code using Azure CLI, PowerShell, ARM template and BICEP.
  • Implement and configure applications & tools to improve automation and code deployment, with a focus on Azure operations and application deployment/configuration.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure/software application issues as required to insure Enterprise systems stability.
  • Define and implement the configuration of Azure IAAS and PAAS services for high availability, data redundancy, data loss prevention, site recovery and resilience per Microsoft best practices.
  • Adhere to Caliber cloud security standards and implement solutions that ensure data security at rest and in transit, application security, key management, identity management, authentication, and authorization utilizing Azure Identity and Security services.
  • Administer Azure Active Directory, Windows Active Directory, and group policies.
  • Contribute to the definition of IT policies and controls and implement security solutions that are in alignment with the IT policies and controls.
  • Install and maintain IT equipment and services hosted within Caliber Public Cloud and Private Cloud, as required.
  • Produce and update documentation on infrastructure configuration, maintenance runbooks, and monitoring baselines (Word and Visio).
  • Effectively communicate within team and across peer level.
  • Utilize experience with ITIL Service Management concepts and processes including Incident Management, Critical System Event Management and Change Management.
  • Comply with all IT and Information Security policies and procedures; help respond to audit requests as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
