About The Position

As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to create a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. This role involves developing cloud-based solutions for some of DOD’s toughest problems, designing a secure, cloud-based communications network to support mission-critical operations. You will use the latest cloud technologies to improve the client’s environment, leveraging your technical expertise to inform strategy and design, and ensuring standards are met throughout the cloud migration process. You will recommend tools and solutions based on research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid resources, leading a team to help the client overcome their most difficult challenges in the cloud. Additionally, you will broaden your skill set in areas like automation while developing critical systems for the government.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with administering Windows and Linux operating systems
  • 2+ years of experience with supporting and administering engineering tools, such as 3D experience, IBM DOORS, Jama Connect, Model Center, Team Center, MATLAB, or STK or CAD tools, including CATIA or SolidWorks
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud computing, including Amazon Web Services GovCloud or Commercial
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • IAT Level II 8570 Certification, including Security+

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in scripting tools and languages, including Ansible, Terraform, or Python
  • Experience in standing up and configuring engineering tools on new and existing infrastructure
  • Experience in developing and automating tools and infrastructure in the cloud
  • Knowledge of linking analytical and engineering tools in a digital thread
  • Knowledge of DoD Security best practices and compliance requirements
