About The Position

The Cloud Biometric Systems Engineer provides operational, maintenance, and enhancement support for cloud-based biometric applications and infrastructure supporting government mission requirements. This position ensures interoperability between key government biometric systems, enabling secure and efficient data sharing among Department of Defense (DoD) and interagency partners. A secret security clearance is required.

Requirements

  • Experience with biometric technologies and standards governing biometric data collection, storage, and exchange (e.g., EBTS).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms; experience with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, routing, VPNs, and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, vulnerability management, RMF processes, and federal compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting cloud operations, maintenance, and security in a government or defense environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Six (6) years in a cloud engineering, DevOps, or cloud security role
  • Bachelor Degree in relevant technical discipline or two (2) additional years of relevant experience.
  • Required: Professional-level certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or CISSP
  • A secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support cloud-hosted biometric applications and infrastructure, ensuring system availability, performance, and security.
  • Facilitate interoperability between government biometric systems utilizing modalities such as fingerprint, facial recognition, iris, and voice biometrics.
  • Manage and maintain cloud environments within AWS, Azure, AWS GovCloud, or Azure Government.
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot cloud networking components, including VPCs, subnets, routing, VPNs, and hybrid cloud connectivity solutions.
  • Implement, monitor, and audit security controls to ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, including the development of security documentation, artifacts, and accreditation packages.
  • Coordinate Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) activities, vulnerability scanning, IAVM monitoring, and incident response efforts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through application enhancements, system upgrades, and process optimization.
  • Develop and deliver user training and technical guidance for cloud-based applications and services.
  • Must adhere to the company’s AS9100 and QMS policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
