Cloud Engineer I

Elastic PathVancouver, BC
CA$71,000 - CA$97,625Remote

About The Position

This is an 18-month fixed-term position covering a parental leave on our Cloud Engineering team, starting October 2026. As a junior Cloud Engineer at Elastic Path, you'll join a small team running a multi-tenant commerce platform across four AWS regions in North America and Europe, and you'll be working on the real thing from early on, not a sandbox. You will contribute directly to building, testing, and enhancing our Commerce Cloud platform. You will work closely with our senior Cloud Engineers and alongside other teams, including Cloud Operations and Performance, to develop, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS. As you build infrastructure as code with your teammates, you will contribute to our commitment to reliable, repeatable, and rapid production releases. Over 18 months you can expect to: Write and ship production Terraform configs, working within a modular IaC codebase rather than a monolith Build and operate workloads on EKS, including multi-architecture node groups Work alongside a Senior Performance Engineer, a Staff Cloud Engineer, and a Release Engineer who will review your merge requests and pair with you on the harder problems Get exposure to how a SOC 2-compliant platform is actually operated day to day i.e. access control, change management, and incident response as practiced, not as described in a policy doc You'll leave with production AWS and Kubernetes experience, real infrastructure-as-code fluency, and a working understanding of what it takes to keep an enterprise platform up.

  • Clear written communication. Most of our work happens in Slack threads, merge requests, and runbooks.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
