About The Position

NCDIT-Transportation (NCDIT-T) Infrastructure Team is seeking a Cloud Engineer - Expert to support the ongoing DMV NCMAX Cloud infrastructure build. The primary focus is to help NCDIT-T understand the architecture and act as a liaison between NCDIT-T and vendors regarding Cloud infrastructure networking, storage, and security. This role is essential for NCDIT-T to build the Azure tenant from scratch, enabling the migration of DMV systems to the cloud. NCDIT-T and DMV have an aggressive schedule to achieve this goal as part of the DMV modernization efforts.

Requirements

• Must be local to the Triangle region of North Carolina.
• Must use their own vehicle for statewide travel as state vehicles are not permitted for contractors.
• Must be able to come on-site on the first day to collect equipment.
• Must be available for on-site attendance when business needs warrant in-person participation (e.g., scheduled meetings, task-specific activities).

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing software solutions for cloud-based operating systems.
• Building and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) using DevOps methodology and versioning with a descriptive model to define and deploy infrastructure, such as networks, virtual machines, load balancers, and connection topologies.
• Providing a reliable and scalable platform for developers to build and deploy applications.
• Designing, implementing, and managing the cloud network infrastructure.
• Deploying and configuring cloud-based network solutions to ensure high performance, reliability, and security.
