About The Position

This role will lead the build-out of Simplot’s new SAP Datasphere environment into a scalable, production-ready state. You’ll define how data is integrated, governed, and delivered across SAP and non-SAP systems as part of a modern data fabric architecture. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, data engineering, SAP, and security teams to establish core architectural patterns, security schema, and operational standards that will enable a stable, scalable, cost-effective and secure platform across the organization. This role applies advanced data engineering and platform engineering principles and will exercise independent judgment, own key technical decisions, and contribute to a long-term platform strategy while delivering a hands-on implementation.

  • Translate business needs into technical designs that balance stability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on Datasphere capabilities, constraints, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code to enable automation of configuring and supporting the Datasphere platform.
  • Apply data engineering best practices to ensure stability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of the platform.
  • Participate as a technical lead or primary on platform‑related initiatives, providing estimates and contributing to delivery planning.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for Datasphere architecture, security models, and operational processes.
