About The Position

The Cloud Data Platform Engineer II is responsible for supporting and maintaining cloud-based data platforms, including system administration, data integration, and backend development. This role focuses on managing platform performance, security, and data pipelines while supporting scalable data solutions across cloud data warehouses. This is a term position anticipated to be needed through Fall 2028 but may be ended or extended based on organizational needs, funding availability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8–10 years of hands-on experience in cloud data platforms, data engineering, or related field
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake & Redshift platform administration and development
  • Experience with other cloud data warehouses such as Amazon Redshift or similar technologies
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica
  • Experience with data modeling and backend data architecture
  • Strong SQL skills including query optimization and performance tuning
  • Experience with data pipeline development, scheduling, and monitoring
  • Experience managing platform security, access roles, and governance
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake/Redshift administration, including warehouse management, workload monitoring, and query performance tuning.
  • Experience managing environments (e.g., dev, test, production) and supporting deployment and release processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Snowflake, AWS or data platform certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support platforms like Snowflake & Redshift, including user access, roles, security, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor system performance, usage, and cost, and implement optimization strategies.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data across enterprise and cloud platforms.
  • Design and support backend data models to enable scalable reporting and analytics.
  • Support data movement and integration using tools such as Informatica and cloud-native services.
  • Manage job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting for data pipelines and workflows.
  • Implement and maintain data governance, security, and access control standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot platform and data issues, and implement continuous improvements.
  • Document system configurations, data flows, and operational procedures.
