About The Position

North Point Technology is looking to hire a Data Architect to design and build classified data lake solutions within AWS classified (ADC) regions. The qualified candidate must have an active TS/SCI security clearance and will architect scalable, secure data platforms that turn diverse mission data into analytics-ready assets for the intelligence community. The ideal candidate has deep AWS data engineering expertise, a strong grasp of data governance and protection, and a drive to solve hard data problems at scale in support of the mission.

Requirements

Active TS clearance required; must be eligible for CI Polygraph. Applicants without an active TS clearance will not be considered.
Designing and implementing scalable data lake architectures using Amazon S3, AWS Glue, and Lake Formation
Building ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion from diverse sources (databases, APIs, streaming, and flat files)
Data governance implementation - cataloging, data lineage, access control, and classification/tagging
Analytics and query layer development using Amazon Athena, Redshift, and EMR
Data protection using FIPS-validated encryption, fine-grained access controls, and audit logging
Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience within AWS classified (ADC) regions
Cross-domain solution (CDS) and cross-domain data transfer workflow design
Familiarity with IC data handling, classification/tagging, and compartmentalization policies

Responsibilities

Designing and implementing scalable data lake architectures on AWS - including S3, AWS Glue, and Lake Formation - within classified (ADC) regions.
Building ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest classified data from diverse sources such as databases, APIs, streaming, and flat files.
Architecting data governance frameworks for cataloging, lineage, access control, and classification/tagging aligned to IC data handling policies.
Implementing analytics and query layers with Athena, Redshift, and EMR in isolated environments.
Designing cross-domain data transfer workflows with appropriate security controls and approval mechanisms.
Ensuring end-to-end data protection through FIPS-validated encryption, fine-grained access, compartmentalization, and audit logging.
