About The Position

KēSTA I.T. is actively seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect for an immediate contract engagement with our government client. This hands-on technical role will focus on architecting AWS-based solutions, implementing CI/CD and GitOps automation, and supporting the migration of enterprise applications across multiple cloud deployment models. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, automation pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code, with the ability to collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and database teams to deliver secure, production-ready environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and operating production workloads on AWS.
  • Deep expertise with AWS services including Elastic Beanstalk, EKS, EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
  • 3+ years of production Kubernetes experience, preferably with Amazon EKS.
  • Strong experience with Helm, kubectl, ingress controllers, autoscaling, and Kubernetes troubleshooting.
  • Proven production experience implementing GitOps with ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Strong Azure DevOps pipeline development experience using YAML-based CI/CD automation.
  • Advanced Docker experience including multi-stage builds and container hardening.
  • Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation, or CDK.
  • Experience supporting database environments, including SQL Server and PostgreSQL on RDS.
  • Linux administration experience across RHEL, Ubuntu, or Amazon Linux environments.
  • Shell scripting experience using Bash or similar scripting languages.
  • Strong Git version control and collaborative development practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills across infrastructure and application layers.
  • Strong written communication skills for technical documentation and architecture artifacts.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKAD.
  • Experience migrating .NET or Java enterprise applications to AWS.
  • Experience with service mesh, API gateways, and advanced observability tools.
  • Familiarity with blue/green or canary deployment strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and optimize AWS cloud environments across development, testing, and production.
  • Architect and deploy cloud solutions using services such as Elastic Beanstalk, EKS, EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager.
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar automation tools.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to support automated application deployment.
  • Implement GitOps deployment strategies using ArgoCD or Flux for Kubernetes-based workloads.
  • Develop standardized deployment templates and automation frameworks to support consistent onboarding of application teams.
  • Configure observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes for cloud workloads.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and database teams to support migration planning and execution.
  • Troubleshoot cloud platform issues including application performance, connectivity, container orchestration, and security configurations.
  • Define deployment promotion strategies, rollback procedures, and release governance across environments.
  • Produce architecture documentation, technical diagrams, operational runbooks, and implementation standards.
  • Mentor development teams on cloud-native architecture, deployment patterns, and best practices.
