About The Position

As an IBM Cloud Architect working as part of the technical team, you’ll work hand in hand with sales to design, size and assist with implementation of IBM Cloud solutions. You will work together with the broader GHS technical team, planning and delivering Hybrid Cloud solutions, and assist customers in migrating workloads from on-premises to public cloud platforms.

Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
Completion of IBM Cloud Professional Architect and IBM Cloud Advanced Architect certifications
10+ years of experience in IT with at least 4 years supporting Data Center / Cloud deployments.
Experience of completing a Cloud migration
Experience in planning and deploying IBM platforms

Responsibilities

Provide expert technical consultation and leadership in the analysis & design, planning, and implementation of IBM Cloud solutions using reference architectures and best practices.
Work with the GHS Cloud Sales team to gather customer requirements, create IBM Cloud architectures, detailed Cloud solution designs that include specifications, diagrams, models and presentation material.
Design compute, storage, network, security, backup/restore, and disaster recovery capabilities that meet requirements and optimize costs.
Establish and assist in the implementation of monitoring and management of the Cloud instances for availability, performance, and cost optimizations.
Architect and guide the implementation of IBM Cloud solutions using modern deployment and configuration tools and practices (e.g, Terraform, Ansible, scripting)
Enable IBM Cloud managed services through configuration management, monitoring, and incident management using automation and integration.
Utilize native cloud services to meet availability and resiliency requirements
Establish internal pricing and instance selection model for virtual instances
Understand and architect migration of on-premise workloads to a public cloud environment
