About The Position

As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to create a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. This role involves developing cloud-based solutions for national security challenges, utilizing the latest cloud technologies to improve client environments. The architect will inform strategy and design, ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process, and recommend tools and solutions based on research of current environments and knowledge of various on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. The role includes leading a team to help clients overcome cloud challenges and broadening skill sets while developing critical systems.

Requirements

Experience building complex enterprise infrastructure using systems engineering principles
Experience designing pragmatic migration paths that keep systems operational during transformation
Experience with production AWS or cloud architecture
Experience with infrastructure modernization, leading technical transformations, building ROI models, and comprehending incremental migration
Experience with iterative delivery through rapid prototyping, tight feedback loops, and incremental wins
Knowledge of cloud economics and trade-offs, VPC design, storage tiers, compute options, and security controls
Knowledge of agency specific nuances with cloud migration, including in an ATO and the WANDS environment
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience with the cloud, or 16+ years of experience with the cloud in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

Experience in CNO spaces or similar high-side environments
Experience with CNO development
Experience with cost optimization, including right-sizing cloud resources, building FinOps practices, or making defensible recommendations about cloud implementations
Knowledge of infrastructure priorities
Knowledge of restricted environments, constraints, processes, and security controls as they impact architecture decisions
Ability to effectively communicate between cloud consultants, mission developers, security teams, and executives
Possession of excellent technical communication and stakeholder management skills
