About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Application Specialist (DevOps/Cloud Engineer) to design, build, and maintain scalable, cloud-based applications and platforms. The role focuses on developing cloud-native solutions, implementing DevOps practices, and supporting full lifecycle application development including design, testing, deployment, and production support.

Requirements

  • 8–10+ years of hands-on experience in cloud application development and engineering
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure Functions, AKS)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Proficiency with DevOps and automation tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines)
  • Experience designing and delivering scalable, cloud-native enterprise solutions
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, security (IAM, encryption, compliance), data engineering, and observability (monitoring/logging)
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and API-driven integrations
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python
  • Strong experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Experience automating infrastructure provisioning and network processes
  • Ability to integrate with RESTful APIs to automate manual workflows
  • Hands-on experience with Git-based version control systems
  • Experience building end-to-end CI/CD pipelines with integrated security
  • Experience working with containerized applications in enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with VMware-based virtualization and cloud services (Azure, AWS)
  • Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to troubleshoot code and optimize system performance
  • Experience modifying existing applications for enhancements and upgrades
  • Understanding of databases and software development concepts
  • Knowledge of virtualization and networking fundamentals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience working in public sector environments, particularly with legacy or mainframe systems

Responsibilities

  • Create applications that are deployed and served on the cloud
  • Build and maintain software platforms on virtualized environments
  • Optimize and fine-tune applications for performance and scalability
  • Lead development and implementation of web-based, n-tier, cloud-based, and mainframe applications
  • Develop integrated solutions for transactional processing and system integration
  • Integrate open-source software into new and existing systems
  • Prepare technical documents including system responses, specifications, application inventories, and implementation plans
  • Design and execute test plans, perform unit testing, and support system testing
  • Support deployment activities and program promotions
  • Provide system support, documentation, and troubleshoot production issues
  • Participate in design and testing walkthroughs
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to testing activities
  • Provide status updates, progress reports, and highlight key issues
  • Transfer knowledge and provide support to internal staff
