About The Position

The Cloud & AI Security Architect enables, matures, and operationalizes cyber defense capabilities across Elevance Health’s enterprise and subsidiary cloud environments. The role partners with Cloud Infrastructure, Application Engineering, Detection Engineering, and Security Operations to deploy, monitor, and continuously improve cloud-native security telemetry, detection, and response capabilities across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. The architect develops strategy and roadmaps for cloud cyber defense, including cloud security posture management, threat detection, logging pipelines, and incident response integration. The role also supports cloud security governance, regulatory compliance, audit activities, vendor evaluations, and compliant architecture for new business pursuits. As a subject matter expert, the architect advises executive leadership, trains and mentors team members, and develops policies, technical standards, and stakeholder presentations. This hybrid role requires associates to work in an office 1–2 days per week. Alternate locations may be considered for candidates within commuting distance of an office.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field and at least 10 years of experience in relevant information systems, security, access management, network security, networking, telecommunications, systems development and management, hardware, software, data, and people; experience across multiple technical and business disciplines is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also accepted.

Nice To Haves

Cloud security certifications such as CCSP or cloud-service-provider-specific security certifications.
Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Integrate cyber defense and security operations capabilities into enterprise and subsidiary cloud environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.
Partner with cloud infrastructure and application teams to ensure security controls, logging, and telemetry are enabled, validated, and operational for cloud services and workloads.
Work with application, platform, and engineering teams to establish appropriate logging in their environments.
Define the roadmap and strategy for cloud cyber defense, including CSPM, threat detection, logging pipelines, and incident response integration.
Develop cloud threat monitoring use cases and train SOC analysts to triage, investigate, and remediate related alerts.
Collaborate with security operations and incident response teams to investigate complex cloud security events and support remediation.
Incorporate automation and AI-driven capabilities into cloud threat management operations.
Evaluate, select, and onboard technologies with vendors, and work with vendor contacts to address evolving business and technical requirements.
Design cloud architectures compliant with FedRAMP or other regulatory requirements to support new business pursuits.
Contribute to governance reviews for new cloud services, AI-enabled platforms, and SaaS offerings, defining security requirements, logging, and guardrails before approval.
Serve as a cloud cyber defense subject matter expert, advise executive leadership, and train and mentor junior team members.
Develop business-level presentations to build executive and stakeholder support for cloud cyber defense initiatives.
Develop policies, technical standards, and other foundational documentation.
Support regulatory and audit initiatives by validating cloud security controls, collecting evidence, and aligning with frameworks such as SOC 2, PCI, HITRUST, and FedRAMP.
