About The Position

Under the direction of the IT manager, the Cloud Administrator is responsible for administering, monitoring, securing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services. This role supports the availability, performance, and integrity of cloud-based systems while partnering with technology teams and business stakeholders to deliver dependable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Two or more years of experience administering cloud infrastructure, systems, networks, or related technology environments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or another major cloud platform.
  • Experience with identity and access management, networking, virtualization, storage, backups, monitoring, and cloud security.
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems, PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting tools.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPNs, routing, and common network security principles.
  • Ability to analyze system alerts, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Cloud, networking, cybersecurity, or systems administration certifications are a plus.
  • Experience working in a regulated, healthcare, nonprofit, or highly confidential environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain cloud infrastructure across platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or comparable cloud environments.
  • Configure and manage virtual machines, storage, networks, identity and access management, databases, backup services, and other cloud resources.
  • Monitor cloud systems, applications, and network performance to identify capacity, availability, and security issues.
  • Respond to incidents, troubleshoot technical problems, document root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support cloud migrations, system upgrades, integrations, and infrastructure improvements in accordance with project requirements and change management procedures.
  • Implement and maintain security controls, access policies, encryption, logging, vulnerability management, and compliance standards.
  • Manage user accounts, roles, permissions, service accounts, and privileged access according to the principle of least privilege.
  • Develop and maintain automation, scripts, infrastructure-as-code, and configuration management processes to improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor cloud usage and costs, identify opportunities for optimization, and assist with budgeting and resource forecasting.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, network diagrams, procedures, asset records, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Perform and validate backups, recovery testing, business continuity activities, and other measures that support system resilience.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, cybersecurity, help desk, and vendor teams to resolve issues and deliver reliable technology services.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, and training to team members and end users as assigned.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation or after-hours support activities when required.
  • Comply with applicable organizational policies and standards, including privacy, security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
