About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Indiana, Inc. is looking for Clothing Processors for our stores in Fort Wayne! This role serves the community while building a career with an eco-friendly organization. Goodwill’s mission is to Empower and prepare people for independence through training, personal growth and work. Goodwill stores support this mission by collecting and selling goods donated by the community. As a Clothing Processor, you are the quality control for our stores! You will use your eye for fashion and attention to detail to sort and grade donations and price items for the salesfloor. When a donor arrives, you will help bring the donation into the building and issue a tax receipt. You could also help with stocking and assisting customers. Every day brings something different!

Requirements

Ability to lift, push or pull up to 20 lbs. frequently; 50 lbs. occasionally and 100 lbs. occasionally.
Friendly demeanor.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced and changing environment.
Heavy lifting, pushing and pulling required.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
Ability to work within the team concept.
Subject to random alcohol and drug testing as specified in the Drug Free Workplace Program.
Fully comply with Goodwill’s Code of Ethics.
Substantial: vision, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, and walking.

Moderate: crouching, hearing, and stooping.

Responsibilities

Sorts, hangs, tags and sizes donations according to established guidelines.
Meets established production standards.
Keeps production area orderly throughout business hours.
Refers customer problems to management.
Handles all aspects of customer service in a professional manner.
Follows all safety rules and practices.
Performs all other duties as may be assigned by management in the process of carrying out the mission of Goodwill Industries.
Maintain a positive work outlook and to project a pleasant, courteous, and helpful demeanor at all times when dealing with customers, donors, co workers, and clients.
Answers telephone and other inquiries regarding donation sites/policies.
Attends monthly store meetings.
Watches for illegal activities and alerts management.
Performs stock rotation according to established procedures.
