About The Position

This role is for an experienced Closing Keyholder / Sales & Hospitality Associate in a specialty retail shop that functions as an experiential culinary hospitality company. The position involves creating memorable guest experiences, engaging in sales, and taking responsibility for store closing shifts. The company is expanding into tastings, events, community programming, and other culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will bring energy to the sales floor and confidently manage closing shifts, demonstrating previous experience in a keyholder or similar leadership role where they were entrusted with opening/closing, security, cash handling, shift leadership, and customer escalations.

Requirements

  • Previous Keyholder experience is REQUIRED.
  • Previous experience as a retail or hospitality Keyholder, closing shift leader, manager-on-duty, or comparable person-in-charge.
  • Experience with opening and/or closing a location.
  • Experience with keys, alarms, and store security.
  • Experience with cash handling and register reconciliation.
  • Experience leading a shift when senior management was not present.
  • Experience handling routine guest/customer escalations.
  • Experience ensuring required closing procedures were completed accurately.
  • Ability to work regular closing shifts.
  • Weekend and seasonal availability are important.

Responsibilities

  • Create memorable guest experiences by warmly welcoming guests, starting conversations, asking questions, and helping them discover products.
  • Engage guests, uncover their interests, make recommendations, and introduce products to drive sales, viewing selling as an extension of hospitality.
  • Serve as the Closing Keyholder/PIC, leading the shift, ensuring correct and secure store closing, directing priorities, supporting coworkers, resolving guest issues, reconciling registers, and completing closing procedures.
  • Balance proactive service and selling with replenishment, recovery, merchandising, cleanliness, and closing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership by communicating clearly, taking initiative, redirecting priorities, and contributing to a positive, accountable team environment.
  • Build knowledge of spices, teas, and culinary products while developing skills in hospitality, sales, communication, problem-solving, and leadership.
