About The Position

Responsible for accurately timing workouts each morning. Supervises Clocking staff, maintains a book of each horse registered markings for identification, and inputs daily workout details into the computer. Generates workout reports, makes copies, and distributes them. Notifies appropriate parties when an accident occurs on the track. Coordinates the Workout Rule and first-time starters for entries with appropriate personnel. Approves first-time starters around the turn and updates the list. Transmits complaints, protests, objections, or disputes to the Stewards and assists in the daily operation of the racing office. All other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 years related experience and/or training; or combination
  • Must be knowledgeable of the Rules of Racing
  • Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English
  • Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions
  • Texas Racing Commission License (TXRC)
