About The Position

Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (DPACS) is seeking a Full-Time Clinician for its Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC) in Malvern, PA. This inpatient setting provides programs and services for children and adolescents experiencing acute psychiatric crises. The Clinician will coordinate and deliver clinical services, including family and individual therapy, to an assigned caseload of 6 individuals. Responsibilities include providing therapy, support with aftercare recommendations, and managing insurance reviews. The center serves children and young adults (ages 6-21) with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric challenges, often associated with trauma.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or other related Human Service Discipline.
  • Clinical Internship and one year relevant experience working with children and adolescents in a residential setting required.
  • Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of software programs (i.e. Microsoft word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc).

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed or licensure track preferred.
  • Previous clinical experience in a behavioral health-care setting, particularly in an acute care setting, preferred.
  • Experience in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, functional assessment and behavioral interventions are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and/or coordinate the delivery of non-medical therapeutic services to patients in an acute care setting utilizing assessments, and individual, group and family therapy.
  • Conduct strength-based bio-psychosocial and need-oriented assessment of current family/guardian system, develop treatment plan and follow up on progress.
  • Enter authorizations into Profiler within 24hr of obtaining them and follow up with all appeals.
  • Serve as the voice of treatment with all formal and informal communication with the team.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and assigned liaison activities between families, agencies, and the treatment team to ensure the highest standard of participation and the best practice of service delivery.
