About The Position

General Purpose The Clinician works with a team to meet the needs of persons whose lives are disrupted or complicated by mental illness, behavioral disturbances, substance use issues, or the inability to function or maintain in the community. Requirements

  • General knowledge of mental illness, psychiatric diagnoses and treatment options.
  • Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competency in working with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Possess interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate and utilize appropriate clinical judgement
  • Ability to conduct accurate and timely lethality assessments, evaluations or interventions while maintaining objectivity and confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize decisions based upon multiple criteria and identifiable standards.
  • Ability to use reliable personal transportation and a clean driving record.
  • Clinician II Master’s degree in social work, clinical psychology, or closely related field.
  • Clinician III (Must meet the above and following requirements) Colorado licensure (LPC, LCSW, LAC, LMFT).
  • Experience working with those who have mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Experience conducting mental health crisis evaluations and interventions.
  • Experience working within the community setting.
  • Experience working within a dynamic collaborative team.
  • Experience utilizing electronic health records and/or Microsoft Word
  • Annual TB, federally required drug screening, and Influenza vaccination or compliance with policy and procedure.
  • Required possession of a valid state driver's license.
  • Successful candidate must submit to and pass, post-offer drug screen, background check, and FBI Fingerprint check.

Responsibilities

  • Work with individuals in crisis in the community as well as individuals receiving 24hr care at the Regional Assessment Center.
  • Assess client’s mental and behavioral health status; provide evidence-based intervention strategies including individual and group interventions as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Provides care management approach around psychosocial/behavioral health needs by collaborating with various providers, professionals and community partners.
  • Assists in coordinating discharge planning including working with providers and community partners and enrolling in outpatient care as needed.
  • Documents all client contact (or inability to reach) and other clinical information in the health record system.
  • Schedule provides flexibility and accommodation within reason and ability to maintain operational status.
  • Maintains prompt and regular attendance which includes the weekly team meeting and occasional required training that may occur outside of assigned shift or team meeting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
