Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the University of Hawai‘i (UH) at Manoa, Department of Psychology, located in Honolulu, Hawai‘i. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws. MONTHLY SALARY RANGE: $5,833.33 - $6,125/Mon. DUTIES: Conducts and documents mental health assessments of children and adolescents referred to the Department of Education (DOE). Provides empirically supported youth and family therapy services (e.g., modular cognitive behavior therapy) to a limited number of clients as needed under the clinical supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Co-develops and provides training supports to school mental health programs, spanning primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention efforts (e.g., Socioemotional Learning programs, classroom management training for teachers). Drives to schools or other project sites. Conducts research and evaluation on a variety of projects, in concert with and support of larger Department of Education quality improvement initiatives. Disseminates findings through technical reports, presentations, trainings, and peer-reviewed published journals. Assists supervisory staff with training of graduate students enrolled for practicum at the research and clinical services center. PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or allied field. Degree has prepared graduate for entry into mental health workforce. EXPERIENCE: One to three (1-3) years of clinical experience (during or after graduate training) that includes conducting mental health assessments. Includes at least one (1) year clinical experience with children and families. KNOWLEDGE: General knowledge of youth psychopathology, diagnoses and diagnostic assessment, and mental health treatment planning. Strong working knowledge of and proficiency at evidence-based assessment and treatment strategies for children and families. General knowledge of research designs and basic analyses. ABILITIES & SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain professional integrity and work effectively and harmoniously with others as a team member. Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively. Ability to exercise independent and mature judgments and decisions, and seek supervision when appropriate. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check for working with highly confidential and sensitive information which includes being fingerprinted and having a federal background check performed. Must be able to obtain and maintain CAMHD credentialing. Must be able to obtain malpractice/liability insurance (minimum limits of $1 million per incident/$3 million aggregate) with the Research Corporation of the University of Hawai‘i (RCUH) and the University of Hawai‘i (UH) as Named Insured or Additional Insured entities on the policy. Obtain and maintain malpractice/liability insurance that waives all rights of subrogation in favor of RCUH and UH, and be primary and non-contributory (i.e., reflect that any insurance maintained by RCUH and UH will apply in excess of, and not contribute with, the employee's insurance) is preferred. Must provide RCUH HR with a copy of Certificate of Insurance (COI) and a copy of the policy. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months. POLICY/REGULATORY REQUIREMENT: As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies, procedures, and trainings and, as applicable, subject to the University of Hawai‘i's Department of Psychology HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policies, the Center for Cognitive Behavior HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy and the State of Hawai‘i, Department of Health (DOH) HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy. Violation of the RCUH's, the UH's, or the business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.). Must complete the University of Hawai‘i's Department of Psychology HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training, the Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training, and the State of Hawai‘i Department of Health's HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training immediately after hire or not later than employee's initial exposure to HIPAA/PHI. Must maintain a current status on the University's and/or the business entity's training requirements. SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: PhD or PsyD from an accredited college or university in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or allied field. Experience with research and evaluation and disseminating findings through technical reports, presentations, trainings, and peer-reviewed published journals.
