About The Position

The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full time faculty member with an M.D., Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent and a strong record of research accomplishment in the areas of clinical neuroscience, medically-facing psychiatry, or mental health services delivery. Harvard Medical School (HMS) appointment is expected to be at the Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor level, commensurate with the candidate’s academic accomplishments. Candidates should have a successful and current record of externally-funded patient-oriented research. A competitive salary and robust startup funding will be made available. The position will be integrated with the Department’s clinical research programs. Candidates who have completed clinical training in psychiatry or psychology are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates are expected to maintain external research funding and to build collaborations with faculty members at BIDMC and the broader HMS research community. The Department of Psychiatry is a major teaching site for HMS and also hosts highly successful BIDMC Psychiatry Residency (including a research track), Psychology Internship, Neuropsychology Fellowship, Neuropsychiatry Fellowship and Consultation Liaison Fellowship Programs. Research positions will include opportunities to teach medical students, residents, interns, and postdoctoral fellows. Pay Range: $135,000 - $323,000 The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations.
