About The Position

This is a full-time outpatient clinician position with a Monday-Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm shift. The role requires registration with the BBS as an ACSW, APCC, or AMFT. The position offers an hourly rate of $42.07, with additional pay for bilingual skills. Pay rates for union positions are determined by a Collective Bargaining Agreement, with six steps ranging from entry-level to 15 years of employment. For Clinician I, the Step 1 rate is $42.07/hr and the Step 6 rate is $46.45/hr.

Requirements

• Master's degree in the mental health profession and one year's experience working in human services settings.
• Eligibility for waiver and apply for registration and waiver upon hire or as soon as regulations allow and obtain waiver within six months of hire date.
• Eligibility for registration from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) OR eligibility for registration from the California Board of Psychology (BOP) as a Registered Psychologist or a Psychological Assistant.
• First Aid Certification or successful completion of First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire, if assigned to residential facilities.
• Meet government and/or regulatory standards for continuing education credits and recertification, including a minimum of 20 hours of directly related professional training, if assigned to a residential facility.
• Proven typing speed of 30 net wpm.
• Computer literacy; ability to use MS Office applications—Word; Excel; Outlook—and Windows-based databases at a basic level.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a small team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and manage a caseload; manage multiple tasks and demands on a timely basis.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with others in both verbal and written English; legible handwriting.

• Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Momentum practices.
• A valid California Driver License, with access to a reliable vehicle/for driving a company vehicle, current proof of auto liability insurance, and a clean DMV record.

• Knowledge of Clinical techniques for assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of people with mental illness; problem resolution and conflict resolution techniques.
• Knowledge of community resources, including those required to meet the non-mental health needs of the target population.
• Knowledge of Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP).

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership in comprehensive assessments, case conferences, treatment plans, and strategic interventions to ensure quality service delivery.
• Serve as a lead member of the treatment team, participating in crisis intervention, clinical supervision, and direct services within the scope of practice.
• Provide orientation, consultation, and coordination within the work team to ensure service delivery meets client, family, and payor needs and reflects sound clinical judgment.
• Offer clinical leadership, training, and guidance to staff, interns, and volunteers within the scope of practice and agency standards.
• Provide appropriate consultation and backup to support other staff in responding to client crises.
• Develop, review, evaluate, and sign documentation, including those requiring LPHA signature.
• Provide treatment services, training, and support to clients individually and in groups, and associated services to clients' families and/or representatives.
• Interview clients and representatives to gather demographic and psychosocial information.
• Complete strengths assessments and needs analyses with clients and families.
• Develop goal-oriented, time-limited, comprehensive plans in cooperation with clients and/or their representatives.
• Facilitate and/or lead groups through rehabilitation counseling processes to develop and strengthen life, coping, and independent living skills, and develop curriculums.
• Assist clients in understanding their problems and developing plans to resolve them.
• Maintain regular communication with families and authorized third parties involved in the rehabilitation process.
• Coordinate needed services for clients, their families, and others significant to the service plans.
• Make referrals to other public and private social services and community agencies and resources.
• Develop recommendations for discharge and follow-up treatment planning for clients and their families.
• Complete comprehensive reassessments prior to the expiration of current treatment plans.
• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical records and other required documentation, producing clear, accurate reports in accordance with agency, payor, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide assessment and intervention in response to client crisis, including necessary follow-up and consultation, and provide coverage in emergency situations.
• Assist Program Manager in maintaining compliance with CARF, contract, Agency, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide transportation in personal or agency vehicle for agency business, including transporting clients and/or program supplies.
• Provide on-call coverage and participate in after-hours rotation as assigned.
• Perform First Aid in emergency situations if assigned to residential facilities.
• Attend and participate in staff, program, agency, and community meetings and training as required.
• Meet continuing education requirements for regulatory, accreditation, and Agency needs.
• Participate in the management of team/program discretionary resources to meet client needs.
