About The Position

The position of Clinician-Day Treatment is as fulfilling as it is challenging. This program offers therapeutic, behavioral, and educational support to elementary and middle school students who have been unsuccessful in their previous school placements and need more support from a therapeutic program. Daily activities include individual, group, and family therapy, keeping detailed documentation, and communicating with all necessary agencies. Experience with mental health is required. This position closely follows a Department of Education school schedule.

Requirements

  • LMSW (or Limited Permit), LMHC, or LCSW licensure in New York State.
  • At least one year of experience working with the grades K-8 in a mental health and/or educational setting.
  • Outgoing personality with the confidence to handle challenging situations and people.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine treatment needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, caregivers, and other service providers.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, case managers, and educators, to ensure coordinated care.
  • Monitor and evaluate clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients and families as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment interventions.
  • Participate in supervision, training, and professional development activities.
