The Clinician Coding Liaison - Pulmonology will deliver proactive coding education through various channels such as newsletters, scorecards, and presentations. This role involves leading onboarding and compliance training for employed Physicians/APPs, including Locum Tenens, residents, and students, to ensure documentation accuracy from the outset. The liaison will provide individualized documentation feedback by reviewing new clinician records and conducting spot checks, escalating non-coding issues to the appropriate teams. They will serve as the primary contact for coding inquiries, coordinating with internal teams to resolve complex issues like NCCI bundling and high-complexity charge edits. Additionally, the role involves monitoring Epic work queues to ensure timely and accurate charge submissions and reduce claim denials, collaborating across departments to enhance documentation practices and system optimization, and participating in specialty and department meetings to identify trends and deliver targeted education. The liaison will also refine Epic documentation tools and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, promoting a culture of ethical coding and continuous improvement.
