Requirements

  • Completion of a nursing program as approved by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a specialized practice required.
  • Applicable state RN license required.
  • AHA Healthcare BLS required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and Universal Precautions protocol.

Responsibilities

  • Accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for the management and provision of care given to patients by self or others who are under their supervision and in accordance with UVA Health’s policies and procedures and scope of practice.
  • Serves as a leader of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health.
  • Responsible for program specific operations of the practice for the provision of effective patient care. This includes cost control, personnel management, quality improvement, direct and indirect patient care.
  • Supports the Clinic Administrator in accomplishing program goals and outcomes.
  • Oversees patient care processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality of care.
  • Acts as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
  • Provides services to all age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.
  • Supports onboarding of new team members and precepts as applicable.
  • Adheres to clinical documentation guidelines, comprehends outcomes data, engages in performance improvement activities, and commits to standard work.
  • Applies technologies that support patient care, actively seeking to implement evidence-based practice and new knowledge generated by nursing research.
  • May be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
