SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Clinical Training Coordinator develops and delivers effective, innovative training programs that strengthen the clinical competencies of supervisors and clinical support staff within a primary care managed care environment. This role designs and facilitates diverse learning experiences—including classroom instruction, eLearning modules, skills labs, workflow simulations, and individualized coaching—to ensure staff are equipped to meet organizational quality, safety, and performance standards. The coordinator partners closely with clinical supervisors, care center leadership, and ancillary teams to assess training needs, promote consistent skill development, and support the delivery of high quality, patient centered care across all primary care sites.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Florida Nurse’s License (LPN or RN).
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 3-5 years training experience preferred.
  • BLS Healthcare provider.
  • AHA Certified BLS Instructor or willing to obtain and maintain while serving in this role.
  • Proficient in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies specific to clinical education, including competency-based training, skills validation, and simulation-based learning.
  • Practices patient-centric care and has experience with and skilled in: IV, phlebotomy, EKGs, Urinary Catheters, Holter Monitors, POC testing, Spirometry, splinting, assisting providers with procedures, setting up and maintain sterile field, HEDIS/quality measures, appropriate patient conversations.
  • Able to multi-task, problem solve, adapt to change and work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration with team members throughout TVH
  • Effectively interact with people and develop positive relationships while being nonjudgemental, tactful, respectful, and direct in communication.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills, knowledgeable to scope of practice
  • Ability to embrace diversity to aid in building and maintaining successful teams
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate professionally with patients, internal and external customers
  • Demonstrate a high level of organization, and demonstrate timely follow-up/follow-thru skills
  • Ability to work flexible and extended hours
  • Ability to travel between sites as needed
  • Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA specifications and blood borne pathogens
  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve, adapt to change and work as a team member in a fast-paced environment
  • Adhere to and promote compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Report incidents, near misses, and safety concerns promptly
  • Support infection prevention, medication safety, and patient safety initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with the Manager Clinical Training and Acute Care Services to identify organizational goals for skill and training for clinical support staff and clinical supervisors.
  • Collaborates in the development and implementation of standardized onboarding training for new clinical support staff.
  • Collaborates in the development and implementation of standardized training curriculum.
  • Trains Clinical Assistant IV trainers to ensure clinical training is conducted in a uniform standardized practice across the organization.
  • Continually evaluates and assesses training gaps and needs of clinical support staff through direct observation, feedback received, and in consultation with clinical supervisors, care center managers, and ancillary services manager, makes recommendations and provides intervention and remediation where appropriate.
  • Collaboration with Manager Clinical Training and Acute Care Services, Learning and Development, and Clinical Applications Specialists and trainers to design and implement educational needs and opportunities for clinical supervisors and clinical support staff.
  • Collaboration with Specialty in training opportunities/cross training opportunities for clinical assistants.
  • Leads and facilitates clinical support competencies annually.
  • Collaborate with Manager Clinical Training and Acute Care Services to maintain, update, create clinical workflows and job aid.
  • Participate in AHA training programs within organization.
  • Functions as a team player and clinical leader to teach and promote high quality patient care.
  • Travel to various locations throughout The Villages. Must have valid driver’s license with a record acceptable to company standards.
