About The Position

Responsible for coordinating, and delivering new clinical staff orientation, training, competency validation, and educational activities for existing clinical staff. The Clinical Trainer must be able to clearly communicate, present and distribute training material and handouts in collaboration with organizational leadership, providers, and staff to support standardized workflows, clinical competency, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and quality patient care. Training may be conducted through classroom, virtual, and one-on-one instructional methods.

Requirements

  • Employee must be able to adapt to changing clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, technology systems, and organizational priorities.
  • Must demonstrate effective communication, organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills while working independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of ambulatory care operations, clinical workflows, infection prevention and control practices, competency assessment processes, quality improvement methodologies, and adult learning principles required.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience in an ambulatory care, primary care, community health, or hospital setting required.
  • Graduate from an accredited high school or hold a GED.
  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Must have a current CPR or BLS certification
  • Must be able to pass a background screening.
  • Ability to travel between organizational locations as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing staff education, conducting competency assessments, delivering training presentations, and utilizing Electronic Health Record systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing clear written communications, prioritize training requests, and coordinate a variety of training activities for new and established clinical staff.
  • Responsible for delivering orientation presentations, training sessions, and competency-based learning activities utilizing classroom, virtual, and one-on-one instructional methods while providing guidance regarding clinical workflows, policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Responsible for coordinating and conducting orientation for clinical staff to include organizational mission, vision, values, and customer service expectations, documentation standards, clinical workflows, quality improvement goals and initiatives, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and document competency assessments, skills validations, and follow-up training activities utilizing established competency tools and organizational standards.
  • Train and assess staff on laboratory procedures, quality control processes, equipment monitoring, documentation requirements, specimen handling, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Train staff on patient intake processes, standing orders, rooming procedures, documentation requirements, preventive care workflows, quality measures, patient safety practices, and clinical protocols.
  • Train staff on inventory management processes, vaccine handling, supply monitoring, and maintenance of clinical equipment and resources.
  • Responsible for assessing and completing competency related to vaccine storage, handling, preparation, administration, documentation, and applicable immunization requirements.
  • Train clinical staff on medication management processes, standing orders, clinical protocols, incident reporting, patient safety practices, and emergency preparedness procedures.
  • Provides competency validation, skills assessments, and teach-back exercises related to patient education, clinical procedures, laboratory testing, preventive care services, chronic disease management, and current organizational workflows. Participate in chart audits, competency reviews, and quality improvement activities to support compliance with organizational standards and quality initiatives.
  • Train staff on organizational policies, workflows, and procedures related to referrals, laboratory and imaging processes, medical record management, transition of care, and patient care coordination.
  • Provide training and support related to Electronic Health Record workflows, documentation standards, and other web-based clinical applications.
  • Maintain and update training materials, educational resources, competency tools, and classroom equipment to support training activities.
  • Provide training and support during scheduled staff meetings, provider meetings, and scheduled educational sessions as necessary.
  • Travel to and provide direct clinical support and operational coverage when necessary to maintain continuity of patient care and organizational operations.
  • Travel to Carevide locations to conduct training, competency validation, observation, and educational support activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational needs and patient care services.
