About The Position

Under the guidance of the Community Chief Nursing Officer and AVP of Nursing Education and Professional Practice, the Clinical Trainer participates in the development/delivery of standardized educational initiatives/trainings. The Clinical Trainer plays a vital role in leading change in pursuit of improved practice and professional development. The Clinical Trainer promotes a positive image and maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers. Through collaboration with the Community Chief Nursing Officer and the AVP of Nursing Education, the Clinical Trainer may be required to travel to other ARH facilities to provide education/trainings.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in Nursing and/or Paramedic Studies Required.
  • 1-3 years of nursing or paramedic experience. Required
  • Minimum of 1 year educational/instructional experience required
  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the state of KY or WV dependent on state of residency.
  • OR Current national registered paramedic (NRP) licensure in the states of KY or WV dependent on state of residency.
  • Professional Certification Required or plan to obtain within 2 years of employment.
  • BLS required upon hire.
  • BLS instructor certification within 6 months of employment
  • ACLS required within 1 month of employment.
  • ACLS instructor certification within 6 months of employment.
  • PALS required within 6 months of employment.
  • PALS instructor certification within 1 year of employment.
  • TNCC required within 1 year.
  • TNCC instructor certification within 18 months of employment.
  • De-escalation training (ARH adopted) required within 1 month.
  • De-escalation training instructor certification within 6 months of employee (or first available instructor class).

Nice To Haves

  • BSN Preferred
  • 4-5 years of nursing or paramedic experience preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of educational/instructional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the facility Clinical Nurse Educator with coordinating and facilitating nursing orientation.
  • Assists with competency evaluation of facility staff through training/educations (skills checkoffs, teach back, surveys/evaluations, etc.)
  • Utilizes best practices in educational content delivery.
  • Collaborates with the facility Clinical Nurse Educator, Community Chief Nursing officer, local nursing leadership and other disciplines to create a robust educational environment while fostering teambuilding and leadership development.
  • Provides point of care assistance and support to assist nursing staff with clinical skills development and critical thinking.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training programs/education delivered via feedback from attendees.
  • Utilizes a variety of evidence-based instructional techniques.
  • Assumes ownership and responsibility in attaining, developing, and maintaining educational and instructional expertise.
  • Assists the facility Clinical Nurse Educator with centralized nursing orientation.
  • Assists the facility Clinical Nurse Educator with the onboarding of student nurses, clinical faculty, and nurse externs to assure adherence to ARH and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintains flexibility when managing multiple roles/responsibilities.
  • Communicates and collaborates across multiple disciplines.
  • Promotes a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Serves as a role mode to promote education, professionalism, excellence, and safety.
  • Role models and promotes the concept of life-long learning.
  • Leads committees, work groups, and/or projects related to the implementation of educational activities.
