About The Position

The Clinical Trainer supports the development, facilitation, and evaluation of training programs for multiple roles within Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams, including Substance Abuse Specialists, IPS Specialists, Housing Specialists, Peer Support Specialists, Team Leaders, and Licensed Mental Health Professionals. This role ensures all training aligns with ACT fidelity, evidence-based practices, and organizational goals while promoting recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered care. Trainers may focus on specific disciplines and collaborate across programs to address evolving training needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health, Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Services field preferred; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • Relevant professional licensure or certification preferred (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LAC, CAC, PLPC, LMSW), depending on specialty area.
  • Minimum of 3 years in behavioral health or human services, including at least 2 years in a training, supervisory, or coaching role preferred.
  • Prior experience training or mentoring professionals in behavioral health settings, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) service delivery, or other evidence-based practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver onboarding and ongoing training tailored to ACT roles; develop and maintain training manuals, toolkits, protocols, and competency checklists; utilize multiple instructional methods including classroom, virtual, shadowing, and simulation.
  • Provide individualized coaching and mentorship to ACT staff; support integration of specialized services into team-based care.
  • Monitor ACT fidelity through observation, chart review, and assessment tools; collaborate with QA/QI teams to identify and address training needs.
  • Cultivate future leaders by identifying high-potential staff and creating development pathways; facilitate peer learning groups and cross-site knowledge exchange.
  • Partner with leadership, supervisors, and HR to align training with strategic goals; serve as a subject matter expert in ACT operations, fidelity, and best practices.
