About The Position
The Clinical Technician II works under the direct supervision of an RN and is an active member of the health care team. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the technician performs routine duties related to patient care, including direct care and activities of daily living, observing changes in patients’ status, maintaining a clean and safe environment, transporting patients, and other related duties. The role requires empathy and good communication and nursing skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Equivalent experience.
- One of the following: six months of experience as a Clinical Technician I; equivalent clinical experience as defined in the CORE skills for Clinical Technician II; completion of or enrollment in a Clinical Technician II program or equivalent; or student nurses who have successfully completed medical/surgical clinical experiences and didactic.
- BLS certification.
- At least six education hours related to the current role.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Observe and report changes in patients’ status.
- Provide a clean and safe environment.
- Transport patients.
- Perform other related patient-care duties under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
