Clinical Technician 1 Intermediate Care unit Days
About The Position
Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Technician to join their Intermediate Care Unit (MCCSU). This is a full-time, day shift position working three 12-hour shifts per week (7 AM – 7:30 PM), with days varying each 6-week schedule period. Candidates must be available to work any day of the week when scheduled and must be able to attend a paid 6-week training period, which includes an initial Monday-Friday training schedule. Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- BLS within 90 days of hire (from the American Heart Association).
- Candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training period.
Nice To Haves
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Clinical Technician experience in a similar unit/facility preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
- Provides basic activities of daily living nursing care (e.g., bathing and feeding) and measurement of vital signs and intake/output.
- Demonstrates competency in all required clinical skills and technologies in accordance with Inova Health System policies and procedures.
- Completes assigned patient duties within the established time frame.
- Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development in providing care for the patient population assigned.
- Completes necessary documentation accurately and reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills.
- Communicates changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
- Partners with Registered Nurse to create a professional development plan to provide employee with the necessary skills to deliver up to date patient care.
- Performs phlebotomy, starting and removing IV’s, and other clinical skills, which will be included in initial 6-weeks of training.
