In this role, you’ll work closely with physicians, clinical team members, and patients throughout their orthopedic care journey. From preparing patients for their visit and providing hands-on clinical support to coordinating follow-up care and surgeries, you’ll help create a smooth, positive experience for every patient. Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure clinical areas are ready for patients and providers.
- Welcome and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document relevant medical history and information.
- Support physicians and clinical team members with patient care throughout the visit.
- Educate patients on orthopedic care, including cast care, traction care, and the proper use of orthopedic appliances.
- Enter physician-directed orders for services such as X-rays and physical therapy.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments, post-operative visits, diagnostic studies, and other patient care needs.
- Assist with surgery scheduling, including coordinating pre-operative testing, therapy, and pre- and post-operative equipment.
- Help manage patient flow to support an efficient and positive experience for patients and providers.
- Respond to patient calls, appropriately triage questions and concerns, and help ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked exam, treatment, and bracing rooms.
- Follow appropriate safety procedures for the handling and disposal of sharps and biohazardous materials.
- Partner with the broader clinical team to support an exceptional patient experience.
