About The Position

Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) is a Local Governing Entity created by the Louisiana Legislature in 1989. JPHSA is responsible for the management and operation of behavioral health and developmental disability services in Jefferson Parish. JPHSA provides fully integrated primary and behavioral healthcare services through its JeffCare program. The Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) Behavioral Health Community Services (BHCS) division provides a continuum of community-based behavioral health and support programs to assist individuals in their recovery from mental illness and/or addictive disorders. The Behavioral Health Regional Director for the BHCS division provides day-to-day oversight of community-based clinical programs, contracts, and grants for JPHSA. The incumbent serves as a Clinical and Support Services Manager, and has clinical oversight for Functional Family Therapy (FFT), Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST), and Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment Programs (CPST), and reports to the BHCS Division Director.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in a social science, health or human services, nursing, or health administration field plus five years of experience in a health service, social service or education program; OR A doctorate in a social science, health or human services, nursing, or health administration field plus four years of experience in a health service, social service or education program.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) supervisor, the Multi-systemic Therapy (MST) supervisor, the Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) supervisor, and the Administrative Program Specialist, per the Staff Development & Supervision Guidelines.
  • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures
  • Monitors the FFT program, the CPST program, and the MST program.
  • Ensures staff attends all training(s), team meetings, and supervision per the model guidelines
  • Ensures the necessary services are provided to meet the needs of the service recipients and the level-of-care addresses medical necessity
  • Provides consultation and on-call coverage to ensure the health and safety of service recipients
  • Ensures program supervisors are collaborating with the service recipient’s primary care physician and psychiatrist to ensure continuity of care
  • Reviews the Plan of Care for clinical appropriateness and ensures it is updated every 6 months
  • Monitors fidelity to evidence-based and best-practice models by reviewing delivery of services
  • Ensures program outcomes are met consistently
  • Ensures adherence to the productivity standard for all programs.
  • Ensures claims are submitted accurately
  • Monitors the Administrative Program Specialist (APS) responsible for authorizations of Medicaid billable programs, denial management and payment plans in the electronic health record, service record audits and records management, community resources, and National Voter Registration Act
  • Ensures staff is tracking authorization dates and reauthorizations requested before expiration
  • Ensures staff is verifying monthly insurance status and electronic health record is updated
  • Ensures records manager is properly securing service recipient files and records containing protected health information in accordance with Policies (Records Management; Privacy of Individuals Served; Release of Information) in conjunction with the JPHSA Records Officer
  • Ensures online records database for tracking and managing closed files to ensure retention schedule being followed and is maintained
  • Completes monthly and quarterly reports for assigned program/service areas
