About The Position

Responsible for providing hands-on clinical leadership and oversight to ensure efficient daily operations, high-quality patient care, and effective performance of the clinical team. Oversees clinical staff while actively participating in patient care and clinical duties as needed to maintain appropriate staffing and workflow. Provides effective leadership, guidance, and support to clinical staff while promoting teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and excellent patient care. Works closely with the Practice Manager to support the overall goals, operations, and performance of the practice. Works alongside clinical staff and readily steps in to perform clinical duties when the office is short-staffed or experiencing increased patient volume. Supports patient flow, assists with clinical tasks, and ensures continuity of care while maintaining appropriate standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical or medical office environment.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflow.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise, motivate, coach, and support clinical staff.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent patient care and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing staffing needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance supervisory responsibilities with hands-on clinical duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related clinical field preferred.
  • Previous clinical supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily activities, staffing, and workflow of clinical staff.
  • Provide hands-on clinical support and assist with patient care when staffing needs arise.
  • Step in and perform clinical duties when the office is short-staffed to ensure continuity of patient care and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate daily clinical assignments and ensure appropriate staff coverage.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and support clinical staff to promote strong performance and accountability.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and point of contact for staff regarding patient care, workflow, and operational concerns.
  • Monitor clinical workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and patient experience.
  • Promote compliance with clinical policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with patient triage, rooming, clinical procedures, documentation, and other clinical responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with providers, the Practice Manager, and administrative staff to ensure effective communication and continuity of patient care.
  • Communicate staffing, clinical, and operational concerns to the Practice Manager in a timely manner.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of clinical staff.
  • Help maintain a positive, professional, collaborative, and patient-centered clinical environment.
  • Support practice initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and organizational goals as directed by the Practice Manager.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to balance supervisory responsibilities with hands-on clinical duties.
  • Perform additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned or delegated by the Practice Manager.
  • Carry out other appropriate responsibilities as directed by the Practice Manager to support the clinical and operational needs of the practice.
