About The Position

The SUD Clinical Supervisor at Sea Mar Community Health Centers oversees day-to-day clinical operations within a residential treatment setting. This role ensures consistent implementation of agency policies and procedures and maintains compliance with contract requirements and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including WAC 388-810 and WAC 246-324. The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical leadership through case consultation, clinical file and treatment plan reviews for counselors and assigned interns, and oversight of case management services to ensure high-quality, ethical, and effective care. Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) founded in 1978, is a community-based organization committed to providing quality, comprehensive health, human, housing, educational and cultural services to diverse communities, specializing in service to Latinos in Washington State. Requirements

  • The ability to listen and understand individuals in need of personal attention to determine if an individual is chemically dependent, to evaluate a patient's needs in dealing with a drug-related problem, and to firmly recommend a treatment plan for each patient are all essential.
  • Mastery of counseling and other treatment procedures for alcohol related problems.
  • A thorough knowledge of regulations concerning alcoholism treatment.
  • An awareness of available community resources for individuals with alcohol related problems.
  • Ability to supervise, lead, and conduct group sessions of high-risk patients.
  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public health, education, or social sciences, or a minimum of five (5) years working as an alcoholism and chemical dependency counselor with high-risk youth/adults.
  • Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience, after becoming a licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional.
  • Working knowledge of WACs, RCWs, and ASAM criteria is essential.
  • A working knowledge of mental health issues and an understanding of how to develop, implement, and monitor co-occurring services.
  • Must hold a certification from the Department of Health as a Substance Use Disorder Professional.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures staff complies with all ethical standards of Sea Mar and, as required, with Department of Health requirements.
  • Works with the administrator to plan, develop, implement, and administer the treatment content.
  • Cooperate with the Program Manager in assigning Counselors, Interns, and Support Staff to program units and cases.
  • Works with the administrator to maintain bed occupancy at maximum feasible utilization levels.
  • Monitors statistics to ensure proper reviews of opening standards and staffing levels.
  • Reviews all discharge requests to ensure the patient meets all discharge criteria.
  • Supervises counselors to ensure their adherence to treatment modalities chosen by the center.
  • Ensures staff maintain accurate, current records for each patient in accordance with a problem-oriented records system and the facility's patient records procedure, which meet the criteria of WAC 440-22-330.
  • Ensures that the educational curriculum is culturally and developmentally appropriate for the patients being served.
  • Works cooperatively with the administrator to make necessary changes in program schedule and content to reflect regulatory changes and policy.
  • In coordination with the Administrator, ensures appropriate orientation and training of new staff.
  • Conducts employee evaluations.
  • Conducts weekly clinical staff meetings.
  • Ensures staff adherence to the approved treatment schedule.
  • Plans and implements in-service training for treatment staff.
  • Provides clinical supervision to the clinical staff.
  • Is responsible for implementing and monitoring the Substance Use Disorder Intern training program.
