About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supervising peer support staff and a team of therapists who provide clinical services to children, adolescents, families, and adults. This position also provides evidence based clinical services to consumers. CHRIS 180 services are rooted in trauma informed care, which is directed by an understanding of the neurological, biological, psychological, and social effects of trauma. This approach involves assessing consumers to understand if trauma occurred and its role in their behavioral health needs. Trauma can include sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, severe neglect, loss, witnessing violence, substance abuse, having an imprisoned family member, and abandonment. Understanding when trauma occurred helps tailor responses, treatment, and services. Trauma-informed assessments and interventions always acknowledge, respect, and integrate cultural values, beliefs, and practices.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the field of social work, counseling and/or marriage and family therapy.
  • Maintain full licensure.
  • 3-Years post Full Licensure and CPC-S Credential required.
  • An understanding of the concepts of childcare.
  • Skilled in providing individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Skilled in assisting and maintaining consumers in their family homes and/or community.
  • Ability to effectively relate to consumers, parents/custodians of all social, economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds, with firmness, fairness, and concern.
  • Solid decision-making ability as related to the safety and well-being of consumers, families, community, and staff.
  • Be guided by precedent and established policy and procedure in decision-making.
  • Ability to analyze and react to difficult situations, often while under considerable stress and pressure.
  • Dependability, emotional stability, and physically capable.
  • Ability to recognize when assistance and consultation is needed.
  • Clinical expertise in child development, dysfunction, counseling, treatment planning, and diagnosis is required.
  • Must be free to travel as the position demands.
  • A valid driver’s license in the State of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate concern and empathy for the needs of others and track delegated assignments.
  • Provide positive role-modeling to consumers and/or families by promoting self-esteem, healthy boundaries, good hygiene, appropriate personal appearance, and reinforcing socially acceptable behaviors.
  • Teach and reinforce thoughtful decision-making skills, support positive change through motivational interviewing, and support the change process through a comprehensive understanding of the Seven Challenges Program.
  • Assess consumer’s history of trauma, acuity, strengths, and needs, including screening, evaluating, and triaging potential consumers.
  • Determine appropriate services/evidence-based interventions, assess co-occurring disorders, and make referrals based on consumer’s ASAM level.
  • Provide initial clinical impressions, administer Behavioral Health assessments and reassessments, and administer Caregiver Strain Assessment.
  • Administer Child and Adolescent Function Assessment Scale (CAFAS/PECAFAS) as needed.
  • Administer validated assessment tools specific to evidence-based practice (7 Challenges, TF-CBT, EMDR, DBT, ARC) as needed.
  • Administer/be aware of ACE score and its implications on service planning.
  • Develop and monitor IRRPs and evaluate/document consumer’s level of functioning and progress toward goals.
  • Provide after-hours crisis support via telephone (On-Call).
  • Make necessary referrals to meet consumer's health, well-being, education, mental health, and employment needs.
  • Participate in Team Meetings for all consumers/members/residents/young adults as needed.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other programs in the CHRIS 180 continuum and with other providers and entities.
  • Ensure group home therapists attend monthly RBWO meetings or provide a counseling summary for group home consumers.
  • Ensure therapists attend monthly Child & Family Team Meetings (CFTM) or provide treatment summaries for consumers receiving wrap services.
  • Attend monthly RBWO meetings and Child & Family Team Meetings (CFTM) as needed.
  • Advocate on behalf of consumers with other agencies, including coordinating services.
  • Monitor the provision of services provided to consumers.
  • Provide therapy for adults, adolescents, children, and families referred to the CHRIS Counseling Center with exceptional engagement skills and clinical expertise in trauma-focused mental health treatment.
  • Provide evidence-based trauma-informed individual treatment to consumers of all ages who meet criteria for trauma services.
  • Manage clinical caseload based on frequency of sessions and billable expectations.
  • Use preventive intervention techniques to prevent injury (to self or others).
  • Provide outpatient services including individual counseling, family counseling/training, and/or group counseling/training to consumers with MH, co-occurring, or substance abuse disorders.
  • Provide CSI services to children and families receiving Medicaid funded services as clinically appropriate.
  • Facilitate groups (e.g., 7 Challenges, DBT skills, GTREM, Nurturing Parent, STEP, anger management) as needed.
  • Coach caregivers in supporting consumers through understanding the stages of change.
  • Willingness to work in community neighborhoods, homes, schools, and public housing communities.
  • Timely documentation of all case activities in accordance with Center policy.
  • Maintain detailed files and other documentation in 100% compliance with standards.
  • Complete all billing expectations within designated timeframes.
  • Complete Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) applications as needed.
  • Complete monthly summaries for consumers in DFCS custody, those receiving wrap services, or any additional partnerships/grants.
  • Adhere to organization policies and procedures.
  • Provide individual supervision weekly.
  • Provide group supervision at a minimum of monthly.
  • Provide feedback for hard to manage cases.
  • Provide/Attend any evidenced based supervision if there is utilization of the treatment modality.
  • Attend Fellowship meetings.
  • Participate in clinical consultation.
  • Review case studies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of consumer information.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries (written, verbal, physical).
  • Follow CHRIS 180 dress code.
  • Follow the CHRIS 180 Code of Ethics and the specific licensing board.
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements of GA Code.
  • Support and maintain an environment of emotional and physical safety for consumers, staff, and other stakeholders at all times.
  • Demonstrate customer service by promoting the positive image of CHRIS 180 programs at all times.
  • Work as a contributing and collaborative team member.
  • Respond to consumer, referral, and peer needs in a timely fashion.
  • Answer telephone calls and emails accordingly.
  • Respond to requests for information from stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Attend and participate in required trainings as scheduled.
  • Maintain required certifications.
  • Review, understand, and be responsible for program policies.
  • Provide trainings as needed.
