About The Position

The Clinical Supervisor is a senior Medical Assistant who is required to perform all duties of the Medical Assistant role and additionally functions as the resource person for clinical staff. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for assisting with oversite of the clinical staff in their designated office location and collaborating with the clinical leads in other office locations to maintain efficient patient flow and quality care across the practice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of one years’ experience working as a Medical Assistant.
  • Extensive MA experience at an outside practice, particularly in an OBGYN practice setting, will be considered.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in leading the clinical team daily, providing a model of positive, compassionate care for our patients and service for our providers.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper training and mentoring of all clinical staff on clinical best practices.
  • Oversees orientation and training of staff on practice policies and procedures. Collaborate with Management to support development of training strategies.
  • Provides support to and acts as a first-line resource for clinical staff members.
  • Interviews and hire new staff. Evaluates employee performance according to established standards. Conducts counseling and initiates educative and disciplinary activities to improve performance.
  • Assists with monitoring provider staff buckets within Athena and coordinates coverage of provider staff buckets when assigned staff are out of office.
  • Maintains clinical supplies by performing regular inventory of stock, submitting order requests to the Director of Clinical Operations, and verifying receipt of deliveries.
  • Maintains a safe working environment and patient safety by complying with organization’s policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Communicate directly with laboratory representatives to clarify/resolve specimen and/or billing issues as needed.
  • Provides input for improving efficiency and quality of care. This position will continuously seek improvement and help implement best practices.
  • Develops and maintains productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment to patients and colleagues.
  • Assists with other administrative and clinical projects and tasks as needed.
  • Co-leads monthly department meetings keeping staff informed of all activities in the clinic, reinforcing customer service standards, reviewing performance metrics, and promoting a strong team atmosphere.
  • Establishes clear performance management expectations and processes for all roles within the practice.
  • Provides clinical and professional oversight for areas of accountability.
  • Performs other duties assigned by management.
