About The Position

Responsible for overseeing all clinical and case management services within the Home Connections, Promise Housing, and Front Door programs. Responsibilities include hiring, training, coaching, and supervising Case Managers and other assigned direct service staff. In collaboration with the Sr. Director, Housing Services, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the highest level of service delivery and client care based on the St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore model of Trauma-Informed Care, Housing First, Harm Reduction, Crisis Prevention, and client-centered practice. The Clinical Supervisor will oversee clinical case consultation, documentation compliance, staff development, and coordination of supportive services that assist individuals and families in achieving housing stability and long-term self-sufficiency. This position is also responsible for supporting agency-wide clinical initiatives, strengthening service integration, and ensuring adherence to programmatic, regulatory, and accreditation standards. The Clinical Supervisor will oversee the coordination of all aspects of resident transitions from homelessness to permanent housing and community stabilization.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or related behavioral health field, required.
Current Maryland LMSW or LCSW-C required; LCSW-C strongly preferred.
Must meet Maryland Board requirements to provide clinical supervision to social work professionals pursuing licensure.
3 years of postgraduate clinical experience required, including direct experience working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, substance use disorders, trauma, and/or material poverty.
Knowledge of and respect for confidentiality, HIPAA standards, and ethical social work practice.
Ability to relate in a respectful, comfortable, culturally responsive, and non-judgmental manner with persons from all ethnic, socio-economic, gender, sexual orientation, and religious backgrounds.
Desire and ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Experience utilizing Trauma-Informed Care, Housing First, Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and crisis intervention models preferred.
Knowledge of homeless services systems, coordinated entry processes, housing resources, Medicaid-funded behavioral health services, and community-based supports strongly preferred.
Willing and able to work in a high-energy, fast-paced, and organized environment while prioritizing client and operational needs.

Responsibilities

Provides strong leadership and direction of all case management and clinical support services with a trauma-informed and housing-focused clinical approach.
Facilitates bi-weekly clinical case conferencing with case managers and housing staff to provide updates on client participation, housing status, behavioral health concerns, crisis intervention needs, and barriers to housing stability.
Conducts monthly reviews of all active client case files to ensure documentation is accurate, timely, compliant, and reflective of service goals and housing plans.
Reviews HMIS and other required databases weekly to ensure all data is entered accurately and within established timelines.
Conducts routine face-to-face supervision of assigned staff no less than once per month and provides ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development support.
Ensures the appropriate documentation is reviewed and retained on clients including assessments, service plans, progress notes, referrals, housing plans, discharge summaries, incident reports, and daily logs.
Supports crisis intervention efforts and assists staff with de-escalation, safety planning, and behavioral health coordination as needed.
Develops and supports MSW student internship opportunities, including provision of clinical supervision, field instruction, and staff mentorship.
Task supervision remains at the program level.
Provides clinical supervision for staff seeking Maryland social work licensure in accordance with Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners requirements.
Collaborates with community behavioral health providers, healthcare organizations, landlords, and external partners to strengthen service coordination and continuity of care.
Assists with implementation and monitoring of clinical quality improvement initiatives, accreditation standards, and agency best practices.
Supports staff wellness and promotes a culture of accountability, professionalism, equity, and trauma-responsive care.
Keep updated on the most effective means of accessing services available within the larger community and maintain an active database for referrals and community partners.
Create a welcoming and positive environment for volunteers, interns, and community partners and ensure they are utilized effectively to support program goals.
